Research Experience

PhD Student
Sep 2020 – Present Ottawa, Canada
Working on using nonlinear effects to perform weak measurements and ways to perform joint measurements.

Summer Student
Jul 2019 – Sep 2019 Nottingham, UK

Spent 8 weeks as a research intern with Thomas Fernholz’s cold atom group, looking at coupling of a laser to different cavity modes and to see if a proposed experimental setup had any unforeseen issues

Worked with Class 3 lasers and a variety of basic optical elements and sensors

RISE Intern
Jun 2018 – Sep 2018 Dortmund, Germany

Spent 3 months as a research intern in the E5a physics group working on the analysis of the $B_{0} \to {J/\Psi} K_{s}$ decay channel to get a measurement of the mixing angle sin(β)

Developed familiarity with UNIX, Python and ROOT

MPhys Student
Oct 2019 – Apr 2020 Oxford, UK

Implemented a method to achieve cross-sectional imaging of an atom cloud in Chris Foot’s cold atom group.

Used a Digital Micromirror Device and gained experience with optical system design.
